Community Fire Safety Operational Guideline

The Community Fire Safety Operational Guideline is provided to you by the Virginia State Fire and EMS Association (the Association) through a 2009 Fire Prevention and Safety Grant award by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This project will provide Emergency Service Organizations across the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as organizations worldwide a comprehensive, single source, yet simple and consistent approach to developing and delivering a fire safety program for the entire community. Although the program is intended for all ages, one goal is to target identified “at risk” age groups of 14 and under and over 65. The content of this program is not proprietary and is available for use by any organization or individual to utilize and teach this valuable information to their community. As a stipulation of the grant award, we will be capturing data on the entire project and we respectively ask that you become a “Fire Safety Partner” with the Association. There is NO COST for this and all the data collected will be used to complete the grant project and your e-mail information will in no way be shared.

We look forward to creating a partnership with you and to provide this simple program to help reduce fire injuries and deaths to our citizens and firefighters, as well as, lower the rate of fire incidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia and our Nation.
