Call for Presentations at 2019 Conference/Expo

This is the official “call for presentations” for the First Responder Virginia Conference August 7-10, 2019 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. This is the first joint conference of the Virginia State Firefighters Association (VSFA) and the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads (VAVRS)

Presentation subject matter can include but is not limited to: strategy and tactics; EMS, ICS, leadership; management; safety and health; new initiatives/concepts/trends; case studies; etc.

Anyone interested in presenting at the Conference/Expo should submit the following information:

Deadline for submissions is January 31st, 2019.

Call for Presentations 2019

  • Presenter Information

  • No more than 1000 words including credentials to teach subject matter, and any prior instructional experience
  • Presentation Information

  • Typically, we will cover lodging and travel if necessary; and provide a full conference registration to chosen presenters. Except for special circumstances, reimbursement is for a maximum of one presenter for 1 to 1.5 hour sessions; and a maximum of two presenters for all other sessions.

    Since the Conference/Expo is for the benefit of 1st responders, any expenses related to your presentation that can be absorbed by you or your organization would be greatly appreciated.

    As a member of the VSFA, VAVRS and Virginia’s Emergency Services, this is a great opportunity to pass along" your knowledge and expertise to the future leaders of the fire service.
