Dear Fellow Firefighters from across the Commonwealth of Virginia,

The Virginia State Firefighters Association, in conjunction with our sister organization, the Virginia State Fire and EMS Association, is proud to provide your organization with a copy of “The Community Fire Safety Guide.” This document, along with the companion CD and the program web site (available at www.vsfemsa.org), were all made available through a 2009 Department of Homeland Security/FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety grant award. This program was designed specifically to reduce injuries and deaths to the members of your community, as well as your department, through proactive delivery of fire safety education.

The project team of program developers, instructors, printers and web design experts has worked extremely hard to provide this community fire safety education program template to your organization. The Association knows first-hand the struggles every department has in meeting all the needs of the community just to respond to emergencies. Our goal for this project was to provide working materials you can deliver directly to the citizens of your community without having to do the enormous amount of development work required to deliver this life saving material.

Please take advantage of this valuable program. We invite you to go to the web site and register your department. There are many tools available to be customized for your department, which will help you start your journey to deliver this program to your citizens, which in turn will help reduce injuries and deaths to your community and the proud firefighters of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Be Safe,

Ronnie Black
President
