Jeremiah “Dickie” Peyton Atkins, III, 85, of Culpeper passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at his residence. He was born August 9, 1937, to the late Jeremiah Peyton Atkins, Jr. and Marie Kinsey Atkins in Rappahannock, VA.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Salem Volunteer Fire Hall, 13428 Scotts Mill Road, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Elder Gary Utz and Pastor Tom Williams officiating. Salem Volunteer Fire Department, Company 8, and Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Department, Company 1 will render honors.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, 502 E. Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 2524 and American Legion Post 330.
Honorary Pallbearers to serve the family will be Mike Bailey, John Hall, Kevin Winn, Glenn Morris, Scott Lohr, Dempsey Young, and Fulton Lucas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dickie’s name to Salem Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1254, Culpeper, VA 22701.
