Roy Lee Redd, age 66, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Lewis Gale Hospital – Montgomery. He was born in Christiansburg, VA on May 29, 1952 to the late John Forest and Bertha Sizemore Redd. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Linkous Redd.

He faithfully attended Auburn Baptist Church. Roy retired in 2009 from the Town of Christiansburg after 37 years of service where he was a 2nd generation employee. He was a faithful and loyal volunteer with the Christiansburg Fire Department since 1973. He served in many capacities with the Southwest Virginia Fire Association and State Fire Association for many years where he was the Fire Truck Rodeo Champion multiple times. Roy was an avid hunter, enjoying deer, elk, and especially bear hunting with hounds.

He is survived by his children, Amanda and Joe Smith, Forest and Jennifer Redd, Ashley Redd and Ronnie Kasey, Skylar Booth; grandchildren, Christopher, Brittany, Addison, Jacob, Lynneisa, Olivia; special longtime friends (husband-in-law), Danny and Dru Yopp.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Auburn Baptist Church with Pastor Shake Smith and Pastor Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Fire Department, 110 Depot St, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Saturday evening at Auburn Baptist Church, Riner.
