HILLSVILLE – Fire departments in Carroll County will all share in a grant recently awarded to the county by the Department of Homeland Security.
County Administrator Gary Larrowe announced that the county received $500,400 in Round 15 of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, the largest amount awarded to any locality in the state.
In Round 15, Virginia was awarded $754,160 in total funds through the Department of Homeland Security Grant program. Carroll County will receive 66 percent of the total state allotment.
