The Eagle Rock Volunteer Fire and Rescue assistant chief who was injured during a water rescue in Covington last week is still in critical condition.

Fellow fire and rescue workers pulled Alan Wright from the water within five minutes on Thursday evening, but he was in cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated, Botetourt County spokesman Cody Sexton said.
