It with sadness that we report the passing of Past Chief Charles (Charlie) W. Smith who answered the Final Alarm on Saturday May 14, 2016.
He was one of the First Certified and very active Volunteer Arson Investigators in the City of Hampton.
Charlie served the Citizens as a member of the Phoebus Volunteer Fire Company for 44 and 1/2 years.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be conducted by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
