Two volunteer firefighters were hurt battling a fire late Sunday night in Pittsylvania County.
The home was destroyed by the fire. The fire was on Kentuck Road in Sutherlin, which is near Laurel Grove Baptist Church.
Both firefighters were sent to the hospital. One was treated for exhaustion and the other firefighter sustained a cut on the face. They are expected to be OK.
It took firefighters from several agencies about six hours to put the fire out. It’s not clear what caused the fire.
